Post Mortems suspended at University Hospital Cardiff
Updated 20th August 2009
The news that post mortems at the University Hospital of Wales in the Heath, Cardiff have been suspended is not only shocking but extremely distressing for anyone whose deceased relatives have been subject to a post mortem carried out there.
The implications for the hospital and how the findings of the Human Tissue Authority will affect post mortems that have been carried out to date are still unknown but the Authority has indicated that it has not taken the decision to suspend post mortems at the hospital lightly but has done so on this occasion ‘in the public interest’.
